C4EO theme: vulnerable children (particularly children in care)

Vulnerable children (particularly children in care) is the third theme C4EO will be working on as part of its three-year work programme. It will run from February 2009 until October 2010.

In November and December 2009, the first progress maps will be published and regional knowledge workshops will be held.

The theme lead is Rebecca Goldman, Senior Research Analyst at SCIE, who will work with support from Action for Children and Making Research Count.

As part of the theme three key priorities are being addressed:

• Priority 3.1. Improving the educational outcomes of looked after children.
• Priority 3.2. Improving the emotional and behavioural health of looked after children.
• Priority 3.3. Increasing the number of care leavers (young people) in 'settled, safe accommodation'.
