C4EO - for the sector from the sector
Information professionals
Welcome to C4EO's e-learning resource on Child Poverty - part of our remit to gather and share local, regional and national evidence of what works to improve outcomes in services, especially for the most vulnerable children, young people and families.
It's clear that data plays a critical role in developing strategies to tackle child poverty and in particular to meeting the requirements of the 2010 Child Poverty Act . Data is fundamental to analysing the needs of an area and helping local authorities and their partners to understand the key issues they face and to decide on the most appropriate strategies to resolve them.
The C4EO online data resource provides Information Professionals with a huge range of data from government departments and other sources and delivers the ability to analyse this data over multiple comparators and geographies using flexible interactive tools.
The site is distinctive in that it enables users to link this data analysis with the most robust research findings and validated local practice to deliver a comprehensive set of information relevant to strategy and service development. Most significantly the tool will continue to evolve during the life of the project with new data sets being added to mirror the ever-changing requirements and structures of the sector, focusing on delivering effective support and advice to Information Professionals when and where they need it.
C4EO's unique remit is to 'gather and share' evidence of what works. The data and research summaries are supplemented by examples of validated local practice. The e-learning tool has been designed to help Information Professionals and others get the most out of this research so we hope that you will find it useful.
Please examine the data and try out the interactive tools on the site and give us your feedback on their coverage and usability - or on any additional data you think would be useful. This feedback will enable us to continue to enhance the support we can give to you as Information Professionals and to continue to build the evidence base for continuing to effectively tackle child poverty.
