From January to March 2011, C4EO hosted a number of regional Excellence and Evidence
training events. In keeping with our commitment to respond to the needs of the sector,
C4EO undertook a national consultation exercise with Directors of Children Services,
asking for guidance on emerging priorities for each region. As a result, C4EO created
training events specific to regions including key messages of research, a focus
on issues that matter locally, cost effectiveness, exploration of local validated
practice, the role of participation in improving services and the implications for
workforce development.
In June 2010 C4EO hosted four national training events, sharing learning from across
its themes. The conferences brought together the best available evidence relating
to a range of issues and helped delegates to explore the fundamental issues facing
the sector. These events benefited from seminars delivered by key improvement support
partners and other expert bodies. Delegates attended workshops of their choice throughout
the day allowing them to 'build their own programme.' Key note speakers included
the Tim Loughton MP, social commentator and journalist Polly Toynbee, Zara Todd
and Tony Butcher (covering young people's views). See below for all presentations
and workshops from both Excellence and Evidence training events in 2010 and 2011
from all events.
